Lee Motors offers BMW EV customers free home solar system in collaboration with Solarvest

Lee Motors Auto Care is now offering a free home solar system for customers who purchase any of the fully electric BMW models. This is made possible through a new collaboration with Solarvest which has been involved in various large-scale solar implementations throughout the country such as the Lotus’s Malaysia (formerly Tesco Malaysia) project.

Through this offer, customers will be provided with a 4.5kWp rooftop solar system worth RM22,000 without no additional installation charges. Available until the end of this year, Solarvest’s subsidiary Powerbee will reach out to the customers to arrange the installation of the solar system once they have completed their BMW EV purchase at Lee Motors.

Taking a BMW i7 as a general example, Solarvest’s Group CEO, Davis Chong Chun Shiong said the system theoretically can generate enough electricity for five full charging cycles per month for the flagship-class BMW EV. He further added that this is equivalent to 3,125km of range.

The i7 is just one of several fully electric BMW models that are available in Malaysia. Among the recent addition to the list is the BMW i4 eDrive35 which is currently the cheapest fully electric 4-door sedan in the country given its starting price of RM258,210.

Another sub-RM300k BMW EV that was recently launched in our market is the BMW iX1 xDrive30 M Sport which starts at RM272,370. Malaysian consumers are also able to get their hands on other fully electric BMW models such as the BMW iX M60, i4 M50, and iX3.
