CelcomDigi now offering Asus ROG Ally with Ryzen Z1 processor from RM4/day

After first being teased by Asus Malaysia, the ROG Ally with the Ryzen Z1 processor is finally here via a partnership with CelcomDigi, with the cheaper version of the gaming handheld available exclusively to CelcomDigi fibre customers from as low as RM4/day.

Specifically, you’ll be able to get the ROG Ally with the Ryzen Z1 chip from any Celcom Bluecube or Digi Store outlet nationwide as well as their partner stores. You can also get one for yourself as a device add on when you subscribe to a CelcomDigi fibre plan that’s 300Mbps and above. Officially priced at RM2,799, you can get the Ryzen Z1 ROG Ally for RM2,736 from CelcomDigi, with 12-month easy payment plans at RM228/month and 24-month plans at RM114/month also available. You’ll have to use either Maybank or CIMB credit cards however for 0% interest on the easy payment plans.

According to the FAQ page, the ROG Ally with the Ryzen Z1 will be delivered to you in roughly 3 to 5 working days if you’re in Peninsular Malaysia, and between 5 to 7 days if you’re in East Malaysia. It’s also worth pointing out that if you need to reach out for warranty reasons or to repair a defective device, you’ll need to reach out straight to Asus Malaysia themselves instead of going back to CelcomDigi.

As a quick recap, the ROG Ally being offered comes with an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor under the hood, a step down from the Ryzen Z1 Extreme-powered version that’s been around for a few months now. The Ryzen Z1 features six CPU cores, 12 threads and 22MB of cache, with four RDNA3 compute units in the integrated GPU, rated for a total of 2.8TFlops of performance. That’s notably lower though than the Ryzen Z1 Extreme’s eight CPU cores, 16 threads, 24MB of cache and 12 RDNA3 compute units offering up to 8.6TFlops of performance.

Nevertheless, that’s the only notable change here with the rest of the ROG Ally still offering the same specs as before, such as 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 512GB SSD, a 40Wh battery and a 7-inch, 1080p IPS touchscreen display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
