Want to test drive the Tesla Model 3 in Malaysia? You can register your interest now

Malaysia is among the first countries to get the upgraded Tesla Model 3 ‘Highland’ and bookings are already available online. If you want to be among the first to test drive the fully electric sedan in Malaysia, you can now register your interest by signing up online.

According to Tesla Malaysia’s website, you can drop your details to receive the latest updates on when the Tesla Model 3 is available to test drive. Just leave your name, email address, phone number and the Tesla Model that you’re interested in.

The Tesla Model 3 is officially priced at RM189,000 for the base RWD model and RM218,000 for the AWD Long Range version in Malaysia. These prices exclude admin and registration fees which cost at least RM1,700 to the final price.

Similar to the Tesla Model Y, the white exterior colour is free and you’ll have to pay extra for other colours. On the Model 3, changing the colour to Black and Blue will cost you RM5,000. If you want Stealth Grey, that will cost you RM7,500 and Ultra Red will cost you RM11,000.

By default, the Model 3 comes with a standard auto pilot, and you can upgrade it to Enhanced auto pilot for RM16,000. The full self-driving option costs RM32,000.

The Tesla Model 3 boasts some significant changes to the design and interior features. The front bumper and headlamps have been redesigned while the rear lamps that a new single-piece design for each side. Even the T logo at the back has been replaced with the full TESLA badges. On the inside, the upgraded Model 3 gets new materials and it now offers ventilated seats and ambient lighting. Meanwhile, the rear also gets an extra 8″ display which can be used for video and aircon controls.

One of the controversial changes is the lack of a physical stalk for both signal indicators and gear selectors. To put on your signal light, you’ll have to use buttons on the steering wheel while the drive selector uses swipe gestures on the main central display. As a backup, Tesla has added buttons for the P-R-N-D modes on the ceiling.

The Model 3 AWD Long Range is listed with a WLTP-rated range of 629km, making it Malaysia’s cheapest EV that offer over 600km of range. Meanwhile, the RWD standard range version has a rated range of 513km on a single charge.
