Is your new Apple iPhone 15 overheating? This is what Apple has to say about it

Apple’s iPhone 15 family has seeing a lot of ups and downs since its launch less than a month ago. The biggest problem is that the phone overheats too fast, based on reports online. Thankfully, Apple has since identified the issue, sorry, issues with the phone that they are looking to address in an upcoming update.

Customers are making complaints that the new phones are getting warm to the touch while doing semi-intensive actions, like phone updates. Apple gave a statement that the phone may feel warmer in the first few days “after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity.”

However, some YouTubers are sharing video clips showing that the phone is actually thermal throttling while using it. Apple also has identified apps that is contributing to the thermal problems – Asphalt 9; Meta’s Instagram; and Uber, according to the company. Instagram fixed the issue with an update released on Sept 27.

“Another issue involves some recent updates to third-party apps that are causing them to overload the system,” Apple said, adding that it is working with app developers on fixes that are in the process of being rolled out.

The upcoming iOS 17 bug fix will not reduce performance to address the iPhone’s temperature.

On the other hand, Apple also said that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max do not suffer from overheating due to the design. Instead, the extra heat is thanks to the new titanium shells that results in improved heat dissipation compared to prior stainless-steel models.

If you are worried that your phone will see a hit in performance – don’t be. The upcoming iOS 17 bug fix will not reduce performance to address the iPhone’s temperature according to Apple.

Apple also said the issue is not a safety or injury risk and will not impact the phone’s long-term performance.
