ZTE has returned with a new entry level smartphone in Malaysia, the Blade V50 Design. Despite its affordable price tag, the Blade V50 Design does offer a decent overall package with a FHD+ display and 256GB of storage.

The ZTE Blade V50 Design replaces the old Blade V40 Design, complete with a lower price tag and more storage. Available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the Blade V50 Design comes in at just RM599. You can find it on sale on the official ZTE store on Lazada and Shopee from 11 November onwards.

The ZTE Blade V50 Design, not to be confused with the Blade V50 Design 5G, comes with what ZTE says is an ‘octa-core 1.6GHz’ processor under the hood, believed to be the Unisoc T606. That gets mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, up from the 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage on its predecessor.

As for its display, you’ll be staring at a 6.6-inch, LCD display pushing an FHD+ resolution with the panel also capable of a 90Hz refresh rate. All of that is housed in a body that’s 8.3mm thin with flat sides all around.

in the camera department meanwhile is a triple rear camera setup consisting of a main 50MP shooter flanked by a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro shooter. Above the display is a tear drop notch with an 8MP selfie shooter.

Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with support got 22.5W fast charging via USB-C. There’s also a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and support for NFC, WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The Blade V50 Design is available in Diamond Black, Sunrise Violet and Beach Green colourways.
