Are you planning to switch to a fully electric vehicle (EV) but still have lots of questions unanswered? Is Malaysia’s EV infrastructure sufficient for long-distance drives? Is it practical to own an EV if you live in a high-rise accommodation? Are EVs too inconvenient to charge?

We had lots of fun during our first EV user training event in August and this is the second event of the year. EV User Training Course conducted by experienced EV testers and owners
This EV User Training course is led by Amin and Alex, experienced EV drivers who have embarked on numerous long-distance journeys with various EV models. Besides reviewing various EVs on SoyaCincau.com, the duo have taken EVs for long-distance drives and on the track for performance testing.
Among their notable long-distance EV journeys include Taiping to Johor Bahru on a single charge with the Hyundai Ioniq 6, and travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bharu, Kelantan in a BYD Seal on Hari Raya Eve—also on a single charge. They have also driven from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu on a GWM Ora 07 on a single charge via the Gua Musang route.
On top of putting EVs to the test, they have also tested various EV charging networks in the country and are always on the lookout to try the latest EV charger deployment. It is also worth pointing out that Alex is an EV owner without a home wall box charger, proving that it is possible to maximise your EV experience with public EV chargers alone.
