Not too long after launching the RedMagic 9S Pro in Malaysia, the gaming brand under Nubia, has just announced its new RedMagic 10 Pro series powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite. Besides having a more powerful processor, the new gaming smartphone boasts a larger display, superior cooling with improved built-in cooling fan and a huge 7,050mAh dual-cell battery.
The RedMagic 10 Pro series is a direct competitor to the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 9 series which is set to launch on 19th November.
RedMagic 10 Pro Specs and Features
The RedMagic 10 Pro and RedMagic 10 Pro+ comes with a 6.85″ 144Hz BOE co-developed AMOLED display that pushes a Full HD+ resolution of 2688×1216 pixels and a maximum brightness of 2,000 nits. It runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite clocked up to 4.32GHz, mated with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 Pro storage.
The main differences between the RedMagic 10 Pro and RedMagic 10 Pro+ are the RAM, storage and battery capacity. The “non-Plus” version comes with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage, while the Pro+ offers up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
Combining top notch hardware with RedMagic’s self-developed RedCore 3 AI chip, the RedMagic 10 Pro series claims to set a new record with an Antutu score of 3,291,328 points. Keeping things cool for sustained performance is an upgraded Ice X Technology cooling system which features a high-speed turbofan that can spin at 23,000RPM with customisable RGB lighting.
The cooling system is also claimed to be the first smartphone to feature liquid metal technology with improved thermal conductivity which can cut down temperature by up to 21 degrees celsius.
Just like its predecessors, the new RedMagic gaming smartphones still feature a flat back and edge design without protrusions along with shoulder buttons.
The new RedMagic 10 Pro series comes in various finishes including Dark Knight, White Knight, Transparent Silver Deuterium and Transparent Dark Knight. There’s also a premium RedMagic 10 Golden Saga, which is a collector’s edition with premium materials.
In terms of audio, the RedMagic 10 Pro series feature dual 1115K speakers with three built-in mics. According to RedMagic, the device is also DTS Ultra Certified and is capable of delivering full-range 3D audio enhanced by Qualcomm Snapdragon technology. If you prefer to go wired, the phone still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For photography, it gets a dual-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera (Samsung GN5) with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera (Samsung JN1) with distortion correction algorithm. Meanwhile, the front display has a 16MP front camera for selfies.
RedMagic 10 Pro offers a 6,500mAh battery while the Pro+ gets a huge 7,050mAh dual-cell Silicon Carbon battery. The smartphone maker claims that the new Silicon Carbon battery offers 25% increase in energy density compared to the RedMagic 9 series. As a result, the battery offers extended gameplay while retaining the same weight and thickness as its predecessor.
When it comes to charging, the “standard” Pro supports 80W fast charging via USB-C while the Pro+ supports up to 120W. RedMagic claims that it only takes 11 minutes to get a 50% charge.
