GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 Malaysia: Specs, Performance, Starting Price
Built using the new Blackwell microarchitecture, the GeForce RTX 50 series marked the debut of the 4th generation ray tracing (RT) cores which is said to offer 2x the ray triangle intersection rate alongside improved compression to decrease memory footprint. The RTX 50 series graphics cards are also leveraging on the latest generation of Tensor cores within the new Blackwell GPU that delivers improved AI processing performance.
In addition to that, the RTX 50 series is also the first consumer-level graphics card offering to come standard with GDDR7 memory that can deliver speed of up to 30Gbps. This allows RTX 50 cards to have up to 1.8TB/s of memory bandwidth and they also feature PCIe Gen5 as well as DisplayPort 2.1b UHBR20.
Equipped with 32GB 512-bit memory as standard, the RTX 5090 features 21,750 NVIDIA CUDA cores while its RT and Tensor cores can deliver 318 TFLOPS and 3,352 AI TOPS, respectively. The Blackwell GPU within the RTX 5090 has a base clock of 2.01GHz together with a boost clock of 2.41GHz.
As for the RTX 5080 which comes with 16GB 256-bit memory, it has less NVIDIA CUDA cores count at 10,752. Its RT and Tensor cores performance are slightly lower as well at 171 TFLOPS and 1,801 AI TOPS. However, the RTX 5080 GPU itself is running at a slightly higher base clock speed of 2.30GHz while its boost clock can go as high as 2.62GHz.
In terms of relative performance, NVIDIA claims that the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are 2x faster than their RTX 40 Series predecessors. Do note that you have may to utilise the DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation feature to obtain the significant performance gain.
Price-wise, NVIDIA has stated on the GeForce Malaysia’s website that the official starting price for the RTX 5090 in our market is RM10,390. As for the RTX 5080, it starts from RM5,190.
