Shell Recharge and Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-Net) have teamed up to offer a more seamless EV charging experience for Proton e.MAS and Smart EV drivers in Malaysia. Starting today, owners can now locate and pay for EV charging at Shell Recharge stations directly through the Proton e.MAS and Hello smart apps, with no extra apps or accounts required.
According to Shell Recharge and Pro-Net, the latest integration marks a significant step forward in simplifying the EV ownership experience while supporting Malaysia’s goal for a unified and convenient EV charging ecosystem. The move is part of Shell’s broader strategy to build a more connected public charging network across the country, including its High-Performance Charging (HPC) corridor that links the East and West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

The live EV charger integration allows Proton e.MAS 7, Smart #1 and Smart #3 EV owners to seamlessly locate, activate and pay for EV charging. This eliminates the need to download and register for a separate ParkEasy app to activate Shell Recharge’s AC and DC chargers throughout Malaysia.
The Proton e.MAS and Hello smart apps currently provide access to over 2,500 EV charge points from major charge point operators (CPOs), representing about 90% of total charge points in Malaysia. These include networks such as Gentari, JomCharge, chargEV, DC Handal, Shell Recharge, Carput Zap, Charge+, and RExharge.
