At that time, the Y Plus Elite was priced at RM119,800 while the higher-end Y Plus Premium could be obtained for RM135,800. Now, you can get the EV for as low as RM95,000 according to GAC Aion Malaysia’s website, although its Facebook page lists a slightly higher figure at RM95,800.

Customers will be provided with a free portable EV charger, according to the promotional poster. Just like before, the EV still comes with an 8-year / 160,000km vehicle warranty alongside a separate 8-year / 200,000km warranty for its high-voltage battery, motor, and electric control.

Both GAC Aion Y Plus variants come standard with a 150kW (201hp) electric motor that also produces 225Nm of torque.  The EV can go from 0 to 100km/h in 8.5 seconds, although its official maximum speed was not mentioned in the specs sheet for the Malaysian market.

Both variants are powered by a 63.2kWh LFP battery pack, which allows them to deliver up to 490km of range, although this figure is based on a more lenient NEDC standard. Under the WLTP standard, the range is rated much lower at 430km.

Customers who choose the Y Plus Premium variant also get to enjoy additional features such as 3.3kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), power tailgate, auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless smartphone charger, powered driver’s seat with ventilation, rear seat central armrest, and music mode for its ambient lighting. The Premium variant also has Level 2 ADAS capabilities, while the Elite variant is limited to traditional cruise control settings.
