A new video on the Proton e.MAS Cars social media channels appears to be counting down to the launch of Proton e.MAS 5. Based on the countdown, we are looking at 30 October 2025 as the launch date for the new electric hatchback.

The new video which features local automotive personality and 5-times Malaysian Rally champion, Y.S Khong mainly highlighted the estimated price tag of the new EV. At the end of the short video, a remark by Y.S and the subsequent on-screen graphic revealed the 10-day countdown.
Proton e.MAS 5 was officially introduced to the public at Malaysia Autoshow 2025 back in May. In early August, Pro-Net begin to preview the new EV all over Malaysia through the nationwide Misi 5 Tour, covering both West and East Malaysia.

Within the same month, the company has officially revealed the general specs for the e.MAS 5 Premium which is the higher-end option for the new EV alongside its Alabaster White interior. The specs for the base variant, e.MAS 5 Prime was subsequently revealed earlier this month alongside the EV’s estimated price which is between RM60,000 to RM80,000.
Proton e.MAS 5 Quick Specs
As noted earlier, the e.MAS 5 comes in two variants including the high-spec e.MAS 5 Premium. Powered by a 40.16kWh LFP battery and features an 85kW (114hp) motor with 150Nm of torque, the Premium variant is capable of delivering a WLTP-rated range of 325km.
On the other hand, the e.MAS 5 Premium is equipped with a 30.12kWh LFP battery alongside a 58kW (78hp) motor with 130Nm of torque. Given the smaller battery capacity, the range of the Premium variant is also much lower at 225km according to the WLTP standards.

In terms of charging, the DC charging speed of e.MAS 5 Prime has not yet been revealed but Pro-Net said that it takes 21 minutes to charge this variant from 30% to 80%. The DC charging time is similar to the e.MAS 5 Premium which we know has a DC charging speed of 71kW.
Both e.MAS 5 variants are equipped with a 6.6kW 1-phase AC charging. It takes around 4.3 hours to charge the e.MAS 5 Prime from 10% to 100% via AC charging while the e.MAS 5 Premium takes slightly longer at 5.9 hours since it has a larger battery.

Other features that are exclusive to the Premium variant is 16-inch alloy wheels, 360-degree camera, LED headlights, and powered tailgate. The Premium variant also has Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that includes features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward & Rear Collision Warning (FCW/RCW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and many more.
There are still quite a number of features that both e.MAS Premium and Prime going to share including 70L frunk, 28L rear underseat storage space, 375L to 1320L boot space, 14.6-inch full HD infotainment display with Atlas Auto operating system, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, integrated live EV charging map, Proton e.MAS App support, leatherette seats, rear-wheel drive setup, and rear multi-link suspension.

As for colourways, e.MAS 5 can be obtained in Moonstone White, Graphite Silver, and Slate Grey with Flint Grey interior. There are also two additional colour options for e.MAS 5 Premium including Marble Cream and Quartz Rose which also feature Alabaster White interior.
Proton e.MAS 5 Early Bird Package

Proton e.MAS 5 is already available for booking at any of 42 Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide with a booking fee of RM99. The delivery of the new EV is expected to begin in November.
For the first 5,000 customers, they will be provided with an additional RM500 rebate on the booking fee. In addition to that, early adopters of e.MAS 5 will also receive the limited-edition Proton e.MAS Enhanced Touch ‘n Go NFC card, inclusive of RM100 pre-loaded credit.
