Petronas Bandar Baru Ayer Hitam is one of the most popular EV charging hubs for those travelling between Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru. Located off the highway and less than 5 minutes away from the toll plaza, the location is able to serve both Northbound and Southbound traffic.
With growing traffic and demand for more fast DC charge points, Gentari has just upgraded the site with a new 120kW DC Charger.
This new DC charging unit replaces the two previous 11kW AC charge points, and the site now offers a total of 7 DC charging bays ranging from 50kW to 180kW.
For this location, Gentari now has a total of 4 standalone DC Chargers. The first bay gets a 50kW DC Charger with one CCS2 nozzle, followed by two 180kW DC Chargers with two CCS2 nozzles each (Bay 2 to 5).
The new charger is a 120kW DC charger with two CCS2 nozzles, covering the last 2 remaining bays.
These chargers are priced at RM1.70 per kWh and you can activate them via Gentari Go, JomCharge and ChargEV app.
Take note that this location has intelligent load management system to ensure all chargers can operate simultaneously. For this site, the maximum power available is 420kW which is shared across the four DC chargers (50kW + 180kW + 180kW + 120kW).
