Xiaomi Auto has officially revealed a new product line called Xiaomi SkyNomad. Also known as Xiaomi Pengcheng in Chinese, the new series will focus on SUV.
While official information regarding the new SkyNomad SUV is still under wraps at the moment, the Founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, did offer some remarks about the new series when he officially announced it through his Weibo page:

“The SU7/YU7 series is the “driver’s car”; The Xiaomi Pengcheng series is a “smart, transformable, spacious SUV.” These are two different answers Xiaomi has delivered over more than five years of car making, catering to different user needs.” – Lei Jun, Founder and CEO, Xiaomi.
However, it has long been rumoured that the new model will be an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) in a full-size SUV form factor. It has also been reported that the model will carry a 1.5L turbocharged engine and two electric motors.

Together with a 70kWh-ish battery, the EREV reportedly can deliver around 400km to 500km of pure EV range as well as a combined range of over 1,500km. Other features that the SkyNomad SUV may feature include semi-flush door handles, air suspension, LiDAR, rear-wheel steering, and up to 7 seats.
Naturally, Xiaomi SkyNomad will be released in China first, although the official release date is still a secret for now. The company has yet to announce any international launch plan for the new SUV series.
