Honor humanoid robots to run Malaysia Marathon 2026 and join Merdeka parade

This coming Merdeka weekend, Honor’s humanoid robots will be making their international debut outside of China here in Malaysia.

The Honor Robotics A1 and D1 will be participating at the coming Malaysia Marathon 2026 on 30th August.

After the marathon, both robots will be joining the Merdeka parade at Putrajaya on 31st August.

The two humanoid robots will take part in separate categories during the marathon in Kuala Lumpur. The Honor Robotics D1 will participate in the 10km category, which starts from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur at 12:00am, while the Robotics A1 will join the 5km category, flagging off from KLCC at 7:30am.

According to Honor, the D1’s 10km run will put its speed, stability and terrain-traversal capabilities to the test. Meanwhile, the A1 will run alongside participants in the 5km category, which is also expected to include Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Honor robots will also join Malaysia’s National Day Parade

Following the Malaysia Marathon, the A1 and D1 will head to Dataran Putrajaya on 31st August to participate in Malaysia’s 69th National Day Parade. This also marks Honor’s first participation as a contingent in Malaysia’s National Day Parade.

Members of the public will be able to see both humanoid robots up close at Honor’s booth at Dataran Putrajaya. Before that, the A1 and D1 will make appearances at Honor booths at KLCC and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from 29th to 30th August, where visitors can take photos with the robots.

Honor will also showcase several of its latest smartphones including the Honor Magic V6, Honor X9d and Honor 600 Series. There will be several interactive activities including a Magic V6 hinge durability challenge as well as screen durability and water resistance demonstrations for the Honor X9d.

Honor humanoid robot completes half-marathon in record 50:26

The Honor Robotics D1 already has already made headlines for outpacing humans in the half marathon world record.

In April 2026, it competed at the 2nd Beijing E-Town Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon (21.0975km) in China in just 50 minutes and 26 seconds.

Besides its performance on the track, Honor says the D1 received the Best Design Award at the event, while the A1 received the Best Gait Award.
