Netflix subscribers in Malaysia, take note! The popular video streaming service has officially rolled out yet another price hike across all its subscription tiers in the country, starting September 2026.
If you are on the Premium plan, you will now have to pay RM69.90 a month, an increase of RM7 from the previous pricing structure.
Back in March, Netflix raised the prices of its subscription plans, though at the time, the changes only applied to users in the US. Now, it appears those price hikes have finally arrived for Malaysian customers. The streaming platform has officially updated its pricing for the local market, and the new rates are effective immediately.
This latest increase comes less than two years after the last round of price hikes in November 2024, which saw the Premium plan bumped up from RM55 to RM62.90. This time around, prices are increasing across the board once again.
Here is the latest Netflix pricing for all four plans in Malaysia:

The price hike ranges from RM1 to RM7 depending on which tier you are currently subscribed to. Here is the full breakdown of the updated monthly fees:
- Mobile Plan: RM19.90/month (increased by RM1 from RM18.90)
- Basic Plan: RM33.90/month (increased by RM4 from RM29.90)
- Standard Plan: RM55.90/month (increased by RM6 from RM49.90)
- Premium Plan: RM69.90/month (increased by RM7 from RM62.90)
Extra Member slot pricing also gets a bump
If you are currently sharing your Netflix Standard or Premium account with family or friends living outside your household, you will also feel the pinch.
Netflix has revised the cost of adding an Extra Member slot, increasing it from RM13 to RM14.90 per month, per user. How many users you can add depends entirely on your subscription tier:
- Standard Plan: You can add 1 extra member slot for RM14.90/month.
- Premium Plan: You can add up to 2 extra member slots for RM14.90 each / month.
As always, the cost of these extra slots is billed directly to the main account owner. For example, if you are on the Premium plan (RM69.90) and max out your two extra member slots (RM29.80), your total monthly bill will come up to RM99.70.
As a quick refresher on what each plan offers:

- Mobile: Single-device 480p streaming strictly on mobile phones or tablets.
- Basic: Single-device 720p HD streaming, with support for more devices including TVs and computers.
- Standard: 1080p Full HD streaming on two supported devices simultaneously. You can add one Extra Member slot.
- Premium: 4K Ultra HD + HDR streaming on up to four devices simultaneously, plus Netflix Spatial Audio. You can add up to two Extra Member slots.
This latest price update will likely affect Netflix add-on bundles offered by various local telcos and pay-TV providers such as Astro and Unifi TV in the near future. We have yet to see official announcements from these providers regarding when the new pricing will be reflected in their bundled packages.
