Proton e.MAS 5 is set to embark on a nationwide tour starting from this Friday, 8 August. Just like the previous Proton e.MAS 7 Tour, the upcoming Misi 5 Tour will provide the public with the opportunity to preview the new EV ahead of its official launch later this year.
What to expect at Proton e.MAS 5’s Misi 5 Tour
According to Pro-Net, Proton e.MAS 5 will be previewed at selected tourist spots and Proton e.MAS dealerships during the Misi 5 Tour. At the moment, it is unclear how the new EV will be presented to the public since it is not yet a finished product, but we were told that there will be “guided walkarounds, static display, and interactive showcases”.
At selected locations in each region, the public will also get to see lifestyle and online personalities demonstrate certain features of the e.MAS 5 to show how EV can seamlessly fit into one’s lifestyle. For example, Karl Shafek will be using the e.MAS 5 as a mobile make-up studio at KL Fashion Week as part of the Central region’s showcase.

For the Southern region, Johan and His Cats will explore heritage sites and pet-friendly stops with the EV. Over at the Northern region, the e.MAS 5 frunk is set to become the culinary platform for Soya Belacan (not related to SoyaCincau.com).
On the other hand, Zameer Pentbrush will join the tour’s East Coast journey while turning the e.MAS 5 into an “on-the-go masterpiece”. The EV’s adventure in East Malaysia will also feature Ain Ramli, who is apparently planning to do a “record-breaking haunted livestream” that will be powered by the new EV.

- Premium variant: 40.2kWh LFP battery
- Range: ~380km (WLTP)
- Output: 114hp, 150Nm
- 2,650mm wheelbase
- 375L rear boot, expandable to 1,320L with seats down
- 70L frunk with a 25kg limit
- 20L centre console, 10L dash drawer, and a rear under-seat storage bin

Meanwhile, Proton has previously said that the high-voltage battery for the new EV will be “included” with the car. This is generally a light-hearted reference to Perodua’s plan to introduce battery leasing for its upcoming EV which is going to be launched by the end of 2025.
