ChargEV has recently announced the opening of its new charging spot at Lexus Kuching in Sarawak. Located next to the Boulevard Shopping Mall, the CPO has installed a 120kW DC charger at the dealership, which can serve up to two EVs simultaneously.
It can be activated using ChargEV’s app as well as the CPO’s roaming partners’ app, including Gentari Go and JomCharge. In terms of charging fee, it costs RM1.60 per kWh to utilise the new ChargEV DC charger at Lexus Kuching.
Kuching is the most EV-friendly city in East Malaysia and Borneo

While the EV charging infrastructure in East Malaysia is still trailing behind West Malaysia, Kuching currently has the largest number of public EV charging locations. In fact, Kuching has more EV chargers than the entire Brunei and Indonesia’s Kalimantan region combined.
According to the popular crowd-sourced EV charger tracker, there are 34 public EV charging locations in Kuching, including the newly opened ChargEV Lexus Kuching. Out of this number, 7 locations are equipped with DC chargers, while the rest feature AC chargers.

ChargEV is currently responsible for 5 of them, and Lexus Kuching is its fastest EV charger to date in the city. The CPO also handles another 60kW DC charger at Regas Premium’s BMW showroom in Jalan Tun Jugah.
