Maybank MAE users: Update your app by 11 April or risk losing access

Maybank has issued a notice informing all MAE online banking app users to update their app within the next couple of days to ensure continued access.

The bank says the MAE app would require uses to be running on the latest 0.9.45 version to remain accessible effective 11 April 2026.

To avoid any disruption to your online banking experience, it urge all users to update the MAE app before next Saturday.

How to update/check if you’re on the latest version of MAE?

On your smartphone, launch the App store, Google Play Store or Huawei Gallery, and then search for MAE by Maybank2u.

If it shows an update is available and the version is 0.9.45 or higher, click update to download and install.

An alternatively way to check if you’re on the latest version is to launch the MAE app, tap on the gear icon on the top left corner and then scroll down to see the Version number under “About”.

To keep your device secure, it is always recommended to keep your device up to date with the latest operating system and security patches.

In case you missed it, MCMC and Apple has issued an advisory informing iPhone users to update to the latest iOS version due to security concerns. This is due to the discovery of “Darksword” exploit that targets iOS devices.
