TNB Electron has turned on a new EV charging station in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. Located at Wisma TNB Perda in Bandar Perda, the new TNB Electron station offers a total of 6 bays, making it one of the largest EV charging location on mainland Penang.
Like most recent TNB Electron locations, the Charge Point Operator has deployed a TELD DC Charging solution. However, the deployment at Wisma TNB Perda is bigger, offering a total capacity of 480kW and there are 6x CCS2 nozzles.
Take note that the charging cable is rated at 250A. This means 400V EVs can get up to a maximum of 100kW while 800Vs can get up to 200kW.
The TNB Electron EV charger is priced at RM1.50 per kWh. You can activate and pay for charging by simply tapping your credit or debit card at the JuiceUp card terminal. Digital receipt is available by scanning the QR code on the payment terminal.
Take note that this location isn’t open 24/7. According to TNB Electron, the chargers are operational from 7:00am to 10:00pm daily.
As part of the opening day promo, we have confirmed with TNB Electron that users can enjoy free charging for today (13th April 2026) only.
If you’re heading to Penang Island, TNB Electron also has a 400kW DC Charger with 5 bays located at TNB PRCC Bayan Lepas. Take note that the location is only open to the public from 7am to 12am daily, and users must register themselves before entering the premises.
