Zeekr 009 upgraded for 2026: 900V architecture, 912hp, swiveling seats and 10-80% charge in 10 minutes

Zeekr’s flagship MPV, the 009 has gotten a significant technology upgrade in mainland China. This comes after the MPV was previously updated to 800V architecture.

While the overall design remains mostly unchanged, the Zeekr 009 for 2026 now gets more performance and has faster charging thanks to a newer 900V architecture.

On top of that, the fully electric MPV now comes with swivel second row captain seats which is similar to what they have introduced on the Zeekr MIX and Zeekr 9X. The sound system has also been upgraded to a 31-speaker Naim Audio Sound system.

The new Zeekr 009 lineup in China consists of 3 variants. The base 7-seater Ultra version is still based on an 800V architecture, while the higher 7-seater Family and 6-seater Ultra+ Executive Edition are on the newer 900V platform.

The base Ultra model gets a single motor at the front pushing 310kW (416hp) and 440Nm of torque, capable of 0-100km/h in 6.9seconds. It gets a 108kWh battery pack with CLTC-rated 740km of range and it can do 10-80% charge in 11.5 minutes.

For the latest Ultra+ variants with the 900V architecture, both get a more powerful dual-motor AWD setup pushing 680kW (912hp) and 913Nm of torque. 0-100km/h takes 3.9 seconds and across the lineup, they are all speed limited at 220km/h.

When it comes to charging, the 900V-based Zeekr 009 can do 10-80% charge in just 10 minutes, which adds 510km of CLTC-rated range. On a full charge, it has a CLTC-rated range of 720km, which is 20km less than the FWD 800V model.

In China, the Zeekr 009 supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) up to 6kW and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) DC Charging up to 60kW.

The second row swiveling captain seats are only available on the 7-seater Ultra+ Family Edition. At a push of a button, it can rotate to 45 and 90 degree for easy access, or you can rotate it 180 degree for a face to face configuration.

However, do note that the 180 degree rotation can only be engaged when the first row seats are empty. This configuration is only practical while stationary as the first row seats will be pushed all the way to the front to maximise space for the rear cabin.

Over at the front, Zeekr has made some notable design tweaks as well. The gear selector in the middle console has been replaced with a crystal rotary volume control while gear selection is now done via a stalk. The steering wheel has been updated with a similar design as the Zeekr 009 and there are now dual 50W wireless phone chargers.

The new Zeekr 009 lineup still features closed dual-chamber air suspension. However, only the Ultra+ AWD variants get dual-valve CCD electromagnetic vibration damper, while the Ultra FWD variant gets a single-valve CCD. electromagnetic vibration damper.

As you would expect from a Zeekr, it still features a fold down 17″ 3K OLED fold-down screen for rear occupants and a 8.6L fridge with heating function.

In terms of storage, it still gets a 706L boot space which can be expanded up to 3,017L. There’s also a small 21L storage space in the underfloor storage of the boot.

So far there’s no word of the MPV’s global release. In several overseas RHD markets including Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong, the Zeekr 009 is still offered with a 400V architecture that supports DC fast charging of up to 150kW. Unlike the newer 800V and 900V variants, 10-80% charge takes approximately 30 minutes.
